When I was thinking about how I would approach this test, thoughts were creeping into my head that it would probably not be a classical testing on my part, but rather a fleeting acquaintance and discovery through the eyes of a cyclist and, according to many, even a \"crazy hammock maker\" (I don't agree with this expression, of course!) with Pinguin's latest product in the form of their summer down sleeping bag Lava 350.<\/div>

In a sense, it was a chance encounter for me, because I had finished sleeping on the ground years ago and now I had to reminisce during the SwiftCampout gathering in Koko\u0159\u00ednsko, which I will get to. But maybe that’s why I was able to look at the whole thing more critically, i.e. through the eyes of a basically novice bikepacker. I still find some people very suspicious about using down fillers compared to cheaper microfiber alternatives, i.e. the notion that you get more music for less money with microfiber. So let’s take a look at that.

One day Dag sent me a message that there would be a SwiftCampout meeting again, that they were going to sleep under an rock overhang, so I shouldn’t even think about hanging in a hammock. I checked the map and it was immediately clear that he was right and that I would definitely not miss sleeping under such a notorious rock overhang. Quite quickly we arranged everything with the guys from Pinguin Outdoors and a few days later a package with their new sleeping bag landed at my house. Upon unpacking, I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice green color, which is absolutely perfect for me. It doesn’t look militaristic in any way and is literally calming. In addition to this shade, the Lava 350 is also available in petrol, which is another perfect shade in my opinion. Here it really helped that the manufacturer did not choose garish colours. Everything is subtle, as tasteful as nature itself. I’d almost say that if you just dropped the sleeping bag in the landscape, it would look like it’s been there forever. The colours are simply too good and thanks for them!<\/p>\n

Teflon Hydrophobic RDS Down 650 Cuin<\/h2>\n

The day before I leave for SwiftCampout, I plan my MTB route in Kommot and transfer it to Mapy.cz. I should have an easy 75 km to go. But the next day everything started different. It has been raining harder than it has in a long time. I postpone my departure as long as possible, but finally, despite the rain, I get on my bike and play the machine voice of the navigation system into one of my headphones. If I don’t leave now, there’s no point in going to the SwiftCampout, and I can’t do that to the boys. I have 11:30 AM on my watch. This is the beginning of a little hell for me, because all the way to Koko\u0159\u00ednsko, where the reunion is, it rains continuously. Eight hours on Saturday in constant, never-ending rain, but the all-important cycling bag (Acepac Drybag 16L), in which I had everything I needed for sleeping, including spare clothes, was completely waterproof. And yet it’s “just” nylon with TPU lamination. The Revelate frame bag, on the other hand, got slightly wet. Moisture gradually rose around the zippers and through the seams. Fortunately, I only had camping gear in the frame bag this time. Everybody wants bags these days, preferably made of X-PAC material, because that’s what everybody does and because it’s fashionable. However, few manufacturers also create a quality seamless connection or, conversely, secure critical areas like Acepac did with their Drybags. Fortunately, this small Czech company thinks.<\/p>\n

I finally “swam” under the overhang at half past eight in the evening, completely through. On the spot I greeted Dag and Roman. I quickly prepare my sleeping bag and take it out, which I knock through and let it “gain loft”. There is a lot of moisture in the air after the day’s rain, and I am glad for the DWR (durable water repellent) treatment on the nylon cover fabric. All the more so the moment I stumble over a log and dribble hot tea from my mug straight onto my sleeping bag. It immediately drained out of the sleeping bag! That’s what happens when you leave your headlamp at home. In addition to this treatment, Pinguin also gives the feathers a Teflon treatment. According to the manufacturer, this improves drying, which in turn has the effect of keeping the down warm and fluffy even after years of use. After washing, it should also regain its original loft more easily and quickly thanks to this treatment. The duck feathers used are also fully RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified, meaning they are guaranteed not to come from animals that would be subjected to unnecessary injury and stress. The manufacturer also lists the following temperature parameters. Comfort 2 \u00b0C, limit -4 \u00b0C (comfort for men), extreme – 20 \u00b0C. The only thing I can say is that in both cases I had around 17 \u00b0C at night and I was perfect. I wore only light summer underwear made of merino wool (long pants and sleeves) and light merino socks. I recommend this nighttime gear to everyone if they want their down to last for years, maybe even decades.<\/p>\n

Always change your clothes before you go to sleep. Do not use man-made fibres or cotton! The skin fat that your body expels during the night sticks to the surface of synthetic fibres and passes through to the feathers. Cotton, on the other hand, will absorb water very slowly. Clothing made of merino wool, on the other hand, is very suitable. Wool can pull fat into itself and hold it in. The wrong clothing will usually make your insulation look several years old after two months of use. Remember that damp clothing that you have walked dozens of miles in will suck the heat out of you at night.<\/p>\n

650 Cuin at Lava still doesn’t provide extremely good collapsibility, but does it matter?<\/h2>\n

The down filling itself is duck feather with a 650 Cuin fill ratio of 90\/10, which provides reasonable loft.
Additionally, the construction of the sleeping bag relies on baffles that have an “H” chamber design, which means the Lava doesn’t suffer from cold seams. If you don’t know exactly what fill rate means, remember the following lesson.<\/p>\n

Cuin is a unit of down filliness and is an industry standard that determines relatively accurately how high quality the down used is. That is, how much 28.4 grams (1 ounce) of feather volume occupies the space of one cubic inch. The higher the quality of the feather, the more volume it will occupy and thus the higher the Cuin value. A larger occupied volume then means the down insulation will be more fluffy (have more air around it – technically loft).<\/em><\/p>\n

But since Dag and Roman were also at the meeting, I had a chance to compare the Lava with their sleeping bags and I had to say that the packability of the Lava was a bit worse. To the touch, it seemed to me that it was the fault of the outer and inner covering material, which seemed a bit less soft than in their sleeping bags. In reality, the top fabric (ultralight ripstop Nylon) and the inner fabric (ultralight polyester) are both 20D. The manufacturer did not want to use 10D because it would make the product more expensive and the durability would be reduced. Even so, you will of course argue that I must have compared sleeping bags of completely different categories, and you would be right. However, it’s also good to know that the Lava stands up very reasonably for our price\/performance ratio and, thanks to the material used, should last a really long time according to the manufacturer. At this price level, I personally find the packability very good indeed. Look at it this way, I was able to pack the Lava, a Peak 25 NX air mattress and my overnight clothes into a 16L drybag. If I were packing Dag’s Cumulus, I’d probably put a spare shirt, underwear and a mini first aid kit in there. Whether it’s worth the significantly higher investment to make room for these items, I leave up to you. For me, though, the packability for the casual cyclist is absolutely fine.<\/p>\n

I was so tired at SwiftCampout that I didn’t test the sleeping bag any more and I fell asleep like a leech. I probably would have fallen asleep wrapped in a sheet then. \ud83d\ude0a How was the night? An owl hooted now and then, something rustled somewhere. Under the overhang one could hear rodents, of which Roman has an incomprehensible fear, so he hung his provisions on a tree as far away from the overhang as possible before going to bed, as if we were expecting a visit from a bear here in Koko\u0159\u00ednsko. I just shook my head and sipped my tea.<\/p>\n

But back to the night and the sleeping bag. Lava has one huge advantage for me, but take it purely as my subjective view. Personally, I’m very spoiled from sleeping in a hammock. I’m used to stretching out comfortably and generally fidgeting and changing positions during sleep. What I really can’t stand is cramped sleeping. It usually makes me feel like someone is trying bondage on me. The Lava is quite roomy, though. It’s not a “pure mummy,” and I’m glad for that. In my opinion, this is definitely a big advantage for casual travel, but of course a big disadvantage for someone who might want to take the Lava on, say, a more rugged expedition. In extreme situations, any extra space you have to heat up can mean some trouble. For travelling around Europe, however, I think this summer sleeping bag will be fantastic.<\/p>\n

If you sleep in a hammock and don’t have a quilt, the Lava is also a decent hammock alternative. I’ve tried. If you unzip the extra sleeping bag and keep the footbox (enclosed space for feet and calves), you’re good to go, and you can put off buying a quilt for better times. I can even imagine taking, for example, a winter quilt in the extreme and if that wasn’t enough, a Lava and packing into both. Road to Klondajk<\/h2>\n

Since it was not tested and especially not photographed, I made another trip with Lava, this time to my favourite Brda. I went to the Brda ridges to the area below the former missile base known as Klondajk. I headed to the campsite where my son first slept under the open sky and which we later named Wasp Camp, because during one of our sleepovers together in the evening he stepped on a trip hole of underground wasps and got seven stings. I stayed up all night watching him and taking his temperature. Over the phone, I had arranged with the closest friend who would come get us if my son’s condition worsened in any way. Fortunately, everything turned out well that day and we also found out that we were not allergic to wasp venom. Today, when I visited the place again after several years, I was literally horrified. The campsite, which was originally located in a deep forest, was suddenly only twenty meters from its edge and then the “moonscape” began. Unfortunately, the bark beetle had taken over here as well, and a clearing the size of several football fields had spread out in the woods below Klondajk. Not a pretty sight at all. In addition, other preparatory work can be seen at the edges of the huge clearing. Probably a lot more will go away this year. \u2639<\/p>\n

To come to better thoughts, I repaired the neglected fireplace and began to prepare a place to sleep. I stretched my tarp from Lesovik between two trees, staked a cell on the ground, inflated my Peak 25 car mattress and set up my sleeping bag. This is also where most of the photos you are looking at now came from. I arrived early, so I had time to study Lava more.<\/p>\n

The craftsmanship is top-notch with a star<\/h2>\n

On closer inspection, the Lava impresses with the quality of the stitching. All the seams are precise, nothing seams, no threads peeking through. I didn’t even find a place where the sewing of two materials together somehow didn’t work. And believe me, I’ve encountered this with much more expensive products. The sewing is simply beyond reproach.<\/p>\n

Lava is equipped with a zipper from the Japanese company YKK. This in itself is a guarantee that the zipper will last for years. Pinguin has clearly bet on durability over time. The zipper is also fitted with a plastic anti-snag protection and I can confirm that it works perfectly.<\/p>\n

It’s also good to know that you can buy the sleeping bag as a “tandem”, i.e. you can combine two Lavas, or always the left and right version of the sleeping bag.
Note: If you go for it, don’t really buy two of the same with a zipper on the left or just on the right! Once again. If you want to sleep with your boyfriend, girlfriend in one “bag”, you have to buy one sleeping bag with a left zipper and one with a right zipper.<\/p>\n

Along the entire length of the inner side of the zipper, you will also find an inner covering band filled with feathers, which prevents heat from escaping through the zipper. Another nice addition are the scarves at the head. The hood around the head is tightened with two cords, or a round elastic and a flat drawstring – according to the manufacturer, this is especially good in the dark, when you can tell which part of the hood you’re tightening. The entire head opening is also equipped with an additional collar, so that precious warmth around your head and neck really doesn’t escape. I liked that the manufacturer also remembered the inner pocket, which is waterproof for sure for valuables you want to carry.<\/p>\n

How to store and how is Lava in terms of weight?<\/h2>\n

The size of my Lava is for a figure up to 185 cm and I have also completely overweighted the sleeping bag. The result can be found in the table below. In addition to the sleeping bag itself, you will receive one compression carrying case. This makes sense for me especially when walking with a backpack. Do not take the compression pack for bikepacking. That’s what you have the compression bags for. The sleeping bag itself will nicely squeeze out every unfilled nook and cranny in your bikepacking panniers. Plus, when bikepacking, you have the option of splitting your load into multiple bags, but you usually don’t have that many options with a backpack. That’s why I personally do more “packing” with a backpack.<\/p>\n

The second pack you get is a much larger bag designed for sleeping bag storage. The bag is an alternative, especially if you don’t have room at home to hang your sleeping bag (yes, for the two loops). It’s up to you how you store it. The bottom line is never store a sleeping bag in a compression pack for long periods of time. I won’t say more on storage because the article is already over two thousand words long and who wants to read that long. I hear people don’t read and prefer to watch YouTube videos. Jednoho dne mi poslal Dag zpr\u00e1vu, \u017ee bude zase SwiftCampout sraz, \u017ee pr\u00fd se bude sp\u00e1t pod p\u0159evisem, tak a\u0165 ani nep\u0159em\u00fd\u0161l\u00edm, \u017ee bych se n\u011bkde zav\u011bsil do hamaky. Mrkl jsem do mapy a hned mi bylo jasn\u00e9, \u017ee m\u00e1 pravdu a \u017ee si rozhodn\u011b nenech\u00e1m span\u00ed pod tak profl\u00e1knut\u00fdm p\u0159evisem uj\u00edt. Pom\u011brn\u011b rychle jsme v\u0161e domluvili i s klukama z Pinguin Outdoors a m\u011b doma p\u00e1r dn\u00ed nato p\u0159ist\u00e1l bal\u00ed\u010dek s jejich nov\u00fdm spac\u00e1kem. Po rozbalen\u00ed m\u011b velmi p\u0159\u00edjemn\u011b p\u0159ekvapila p\u0159\u00edjemn\u00e1 zelen\u00e1 barva, kter\u00e1 je za m\u011b naprosto perfektn\u00ed. Nep\u016fsob\u00ed nijak militaristicky a doslova uklid\u0148uje. Krom\u011b tohoto odst\u00ednu se Lava 350 nab\u00edz\u00ed je\u0161t\u011b v proveden\u00ed petrol, co\u017e je podle m\u011b dal\u0161\u00ed perfektn\u00ed odst\u00edn. Zde opravdu vysloven\u011b prosp\u011blo, \u017ee v\u00fdrobce nezvolil k\u0159iklav\u00e9 barvy. V\u0161e je decentn\u00ed, vkusn\u00e9 jako sama p\u0159\u00edroda. Skoro bych \u0159ekl, \u017ee kdybyste spac\u00e1k jen tak pohodili v krajin\u011b, bude vypadat, jako by tam odprad\u00e1vna pat\u0159il. Barvy se zkr\u00e1tka povedli moc a d\u00edky za n\u011b!<\/p>

N\u00e1sleduj\u00edc\u00ed den je ale v\u0161e jinak. Od r\u00e1na siln\u011b pr\u0161elo, jako u\u017e dlouho ne. Oddaluji odjezd, co to jde, ale nakonec nased\u00e1m i v pr\u016ftr\u017ei na kolo a do jednoho ze sluch\u00e1tek si pou\u0161t\u00edm strojov\u00fd hlas navigace. Kdy\u017e nevyjedu te\u010f, tak u\u017e nem\u00e1 smysl na sraz vyr\u00e1\u017eet, a to kluk\u016fm nem\u016f\u017eu ud\u011blat. Na hodink\u00e1ch m\u00e1m 11 hodin 30 minut. T\u00edm za\u010d\u00edn\u00e1 pro m\u011b mal\u00e9 peklo, proto\u017ee a\u017e do Koko\u0159\u00ednska, kde je sraz, neust\u00e1le pr\u0161\u00ed. Osm sobotn\u00edch hodin v neust\u00e1l\u00e9m, nekon\u010d\u00edc\u00edm de\u0161ti, ale ta nejd\u016fle\u017eit\u011bj\u0161\u00ed bra\u0161na na kole (Acepac Drybag 16L), kde jsem m\u011bl v\u0161e na span\u00ed v\u010detn\u011b n\u00e1hradn\u00edho oble\u010den\u00ed, absolutn\u011b nepromokla. A p\u0159itom to je \u201ejen\u201c Nylon s TPU laminac\u00ed. Naopak lehce promokla r\u00e1mov\u00e1 bra\u0161na Revelate. Postupn\u011b vzl\u00ednala vlhkost okolo zip\u016f a skrz \u0161vy. Na\u0161t\u011bst\u00ed tentokr\u00e1t jsem m\u011bl v r\u00e1movce jen t\u00e1bornick\u00e9 vybaven\u00ed. Comfort 2 \u00b0C, limit -4 \u00b0C (komfort pro mu\u017ee), extr\u00e9m -20\u00b0C. Jedin\u00e9, co k tomu mohu \u0159\u00edct, \u017ee v obou p\u0159\u00edpadech jsem m\u011bl v noci okolo 17 \u00b0C a bylo mi perfektn\u011b. Na sob\u011b jsem m\u011bl jen lehk\u00e9 letn\u00ed spodn\u00ed pr\u00e1dlo z merino vlny (dlouh\u00e9 nohavice a ruk\u00e1vy) a slab\u00e9 merino pono\u017eky. Tuto v\u00fdbavu na noc doporu\u010duji v\u0161em, pokud cht\u011bj\u00ed, aby jim p\u00e9\u0159\u00e1k vydr\u017eel roky, mo\u017en\u00e1 dokonce des\u00edtky let.<\/p>

Bavlna naopak bude velmi pomalu absorbovat vodu. Velmi vhodn\u00e9 je naopak oble\u010den\u00ed z merino vlny. Vlna dok\u00e1\u017ee nat\u00e1hnout tuk do sebe a zadr\u017eet ho. \u0160patn\u00e9 oble\u010den\u00ed obvykle zp\u016fsob\u00ed, \u017ee va\u0161e zateplen\u00ed bude po dvou m\u011bs\u00edc\u00edch u\u017e\u00edv\u00e1n\u00ed vypadat jako star\u00e9 n\u011bkolik let. Konstrukce spac\u00e1ku nav\u00edc spol\u00e9h\u00e1 na p\u0159ep\u00e1\u017eky, kter\u00e9 maj\u00ed proveden\u00ed \u201eH\u201c komor, d\u00edky \u010demu\u017e Lava netrp\u00ed studen\u00fdmi \u0161vy. Cuin je jednotkou plnivosti pe\u0159\u00ed a jedn\u00e1 se o pr\u016fmyslov\u00fd standard, kter\u00fd relativn\u011b p\u0159esn\u011b ur\u010duje, jak moc je pou\u017eit\u00e9 pe\u0159\u00ed kvalitn\u00ed. To znamen\u00e1, kolik zaujme 28,4 g (1 unce) pe\u0159\u00ed objemu v prostoru jednoho kubick\u00e9ho palce. \u010c\u00edm je pe\u0159\u00ed kvalitn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed, t\u00edm zaujme v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed objem a t\u00edm je tak\u00e9 hodnota Cuin vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed. V\u011bt\u0161\u00ed obsazen\u00fd objem pak znamen\u00e1, \u017ee p\u00e9\u0159ov\u00e1 izolace bude nad\u00fdchan\u011bj\u0161\u00ed (bude m\u00edt kolem sebe v\u00edce vzduchu \u2013 odborn\u011b loft).<\/em><\/p>

Proto\u017ee byl ale na srazu taky Dag s Romanem, m\u011bl jsem mo\u017enost Lavu porovnat s jejich spac\u00e1ky a musel jsem konstatovat, \u017ee sbalitelnost byla u Lavy o n\u011bco hor\u0161\u00ed. Na omak se mi zd\u00e1lo, \u017ee za to bude moci pou\u017eit\u00fd kryc\u00ed vn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed i vnit\u0159n\u00ed materi\u00e1l, kter\u00fd se mi p\u0159eci jen zd\u00e1l o n\u011bco m\u00e9n\u011b jemn\u00fd ne\u017e u jejich spac\u00e1k\u016f. Ve skute\u010dnosti je to tak, \u017ee svrchn\u00ed tkanina (ultralight ripstop Nylon), tak i vnit\u0159n\u00ed tkanina (ultralight polyester) jsou ob\u011b v proveden\u00ed 20D. V\u00fdrobce necht\u011bl pou\u017e\u00edt 10D, proto\u017ee by se v\u00fdrobek prodra\u017eoval a trvanlivost by se sn\u00ed\u017eila. I tak samoz\u0159ejm\u011b nam\u00edtnete, \u017ee jsem asi porovn\u00e1val spac\u00e1ky naprosto odli\u0161n\u00fdch kategori\u00ed, a budete m\u00edt pravdu. Je ale dobr\u00e9 tak\u00e9 v\u011bd\u011bt, \u017ee Lava si stoj\u00ed pro na\u0161ince v pom\u011bru cena\/v\u00fdkon velmi rozumn\u011b a d\u00edky pou\u017eit\u00e9mu materi\u00e1lu by m\u011bla podle v\u00fdrobce vydr\u017eet opravdu dlouho. V t\u00e9to cenov\u00e9 hladin\u011b se mn\u011b osobn\u011b zd\u00e1 sbalitelnost opravdu velmi dobr\u00e1. D\u00edvejte se na to asi tak, \u017ee do 16L drybagu jsem byl schopen sbalit Lavu, nafukovac\u00ed karimatku Peak 25 NX a oble\u010den\u00ed na noc. Pokud bych balil Dag\u016fv Cumulus, narval bych tam asi je\u0161t\u011b n\u00e1hradn\u00ed triko, spodky a mini l\u00e9k\u00e1rni\u010dku. Zda se v\u00e1m vyplat\u00ed v\u00fdrazn\u011b vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed investice, abyste z\u00edskali m\u00edsto na tyto v\u011bci, nech\u00e1v\u00e1m na v\u00e1s. Za m\u011b je ale sbalitelnost pro b\u011b\u017en\u00e9ho cykloturistu naprosto cajk.<\/p>

Na SwiftCampoutu jsem byl tak unaven\u00fd, \u017ee jsem spac\u00e1k nijak v\u00edc netestoval a usnul jsem jak dudek. Asi bych tehdy usnul i zabalen\u00fd v prost\u011bradle. \ud83d\ude0aA jak\u00e1 byla noc? Sem tam zahoukala sova, n\u011bco se n\u011bkde ob\u010das \u0161ustlo. Pod p\u0159evisem \u010dlov\u011bk ob\u010das zaslechl hlodavce, z kter\u00fdch m\u00e1 Roman nepochopitelnou hr\u016fzu, proto sv\u016fj proviant je\u0161t\u011b p\u0159ed span\u00edm zav\u011bsil na strom, co nejd\u00e1le od p\u0159evisu, jako kdybychom tady v Koko\u0159\u00ednsku \u010dekali n\u00e1v\u0161t\u011bvu medv\u011bda. Jen jsem kroutil hlavou a pop\u00edjel sv\u016fj \u010daj.<\/p>

Ale zp\u011bt k noci a spac\u00e1ku. Lava m\u00e1 jednu pro m\u011b obrovskou v\u00fdhodu, kterou berte ale \u010dist\u011b jako m\u016fj subjektivn\u00ed pohled. Osobn\u011b jsem ze span\u00ed v hamace hodn\u011b zh\u00fd\u010dkan\u00fd. Jsem navyknut\u00fd se pohodln\u011b rozt\u00e1hnout a v\u016fbec se r\u016fzn\u011b b\u011bhem span\u00ed vrt\u00edm a m\u011bn\u00edm polohy. Co opravdu nesnesu, je st\u00edsn\u011bn\u00e9 span\u00ed. To si v\u011bt\u0161inou p\u0159ipad\u00e1m, jako by na m\u011b n\u011bkdo zkou\u0161el bond\u00e1\u017e. Lava je ale celkem prostorn\u00e1. Nen\u00ed to \u201e\u010distokrevn\u00e1 mumie\u201c, a za to jsem r\u00e1d. Podle m\u011b je to rozhodn\u011b pro b\u011b\u017en\u00e9 cestov\u00e1n\u00ed velk\u00e1 v\u00fdhoda, ale samoz\u0159ejm\u011b i velk\u00e1 nev\u00fdhoda pro n\u011bkoho, kdo by si Lavu cht\u011bl vz\u00edt t\u0159eba na drsn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed expedici. V extr\u00e9mn\u00edch situac\u00edch ka\u017ed\u00e9 voln\u00e9 m\u00edsto nav\u00edc, kter\u00e9 mus\u00edte vyh\u0159\u00e1t, m\u016f\u017ee znamenat ur\u010dit\u00e9 pot\u00ed\u017ee. Pro cestov\u00e1n\u00ed po Evrop\u011b bude podle m\u011b ov\u0161em tento letn\u00ed spac\u00e1k fantastick\u00fd.<\/p>

Dovedu si i p\u0159edstavit, \u017ee bych v zim\u011b v extr\u00e9mu bral nap\u0159\u00edklad zimn\u00ed quilt a pokud by to nesta\u010dilo, tak i Lavu a nabalil se do obou. Cesta na Klondajk<\/h2>

Jeliko\u017e nebylo dotestov\u00e1no a hlavn\u011b nafoceno, absolvoval jsem s Lavou je\u0161t\u011b dal\u0161\u00ed cestu, a to tentokr\u00e1t do m\u00fdch obl\u00edben\u00fdch Brd. Vyrazil jsem na brdsk\u00e9 h\u0159ebeny do oblasti pod b\u00fdvalou raketovou z\u00e1kladnou zn\u00e1mou jako Klondajk. Zam\u00ed\u0159il jsem na t\u00e1bo\u0159i\u0161t\u011b, kde m\u016fj syn poprv\u00e9 spal pod \u0161ir\u00e1kem a kter\u00e9 jsme spolu pozd\u011bji pojmenovali Vos\u00ed kemp, proto\u017ee b\u011bhem jednoho na\u0161eho spole\u010dn\u00e9ho p\u0159esp\u00e1n\u00ed ve\u010der do\u0161l\u00e1pl na v\u00fdletov\u00fd otvor podzemn\u00edch vos a dostal rovnou sedm \u017eihadel. Celou noc jsem tehdy probd\u011bl, sledoval ho a m\u011b\u0159il mu teplotu. Po telefonu jsem byl domluven\u00fd s nejbli\u017e\u0161\u00edm kamar\u00e1dem, kter\u00fd by pro n\u00e1s zajel, kdyby se syn\u016fv stav n\u011bjak zhor\u0161oval. Na\u0161t\u011bst\u00ed tehdy v\u0161e dopadlo dob\u0159e a zjistili jsme taky, \u017ee nem\u00e1me alergii na vos\u00ed jed. Dnes, kdy\u017e jsem na m\u00edsto p\u0159ijel po n\u011bkolika letech znovu, byl jsem doslova zd\u011b\u0161en\u00fd. T\u00e1bo\u0159i\u0161t\u011b, kter\u00e9 se nach\u00e1zelo p\u016fvodn\u011b v hlubok\u00e9m lese, bylo najednou jen dvacet metr\u016f od jeho okraje a pak u\u017e za\u010d\u00ednala \u201em\u011bs\u00ed\u010dn\u00ed krajina\u201c. Bohu\u017eel k\u016frovec za\u00fa\u0159adoval i zde a v les\u00edch pod Klondajkem se rozprost\u0159ela m\u00fdtina o velikosti n\u011bkolika fotbalov\u00fdch h\u0159i\u0161\u0165. Nen\u00ed to v\u016fbec p\u011bkn\u00fd pohled. Nav\u00edc lze p\u0159i okraj\u00edch obrovsk\u00e9 m\u00fdtiny pozorovat dal\u0161\u00ed p\u0159\u00edpravn\u00e9 pr\u00e1ce. Asi toho p\u016fjde pry\u010d je\u0161t\u011b tento rok mnohem v\u00edce. \u2639<\/p>

Abych p\u0159i\u0161el na lep\u0161\u00ed my\u0161lenky, opravil jsem zanedban\u00e9 ohni\u0161t\u011b a za\u010dal p\u0159ipravovat m\u00edsto na span\u00ed. Nat\u00e1hl jsem mezi dva stromy sv\u016fj tarp od Lesoviku, na zem p\u0159ikol\u00edkoval celtu, nafoukl karimatku Peak 25 a rozlo\u017eil spac\u00e1k. Z tohoto m\u00edsta tak\u00e9 poch\u00e1z\u00ed v\u011bt\u0161ina fotografi\u00ed, na kter\u00e9 se nyn\u00ed d\u00edv\u00e1te. Na m\u00edsto jsem p\u0159ijel brzo, proto jsem m\u011bl \u010das Lavu v\u00edce prostudovat.<\/p>

Nena\u0161el jsem ani m\u00edsta, kde by se\u0161it\u00ed dvou materi\u00e1l\u016f k sob\u011b tak n\u011bjak nevy\u0161lo. A v\u011b\u0159te mi, \u017ee jsem s t\u00edm setkal u mnohem dra\u017e\u0161\u00edch v\u00fdrobk\u016f. \u0160it\u00ed zkr\u00e1tka nelze nic vytknout.<\/p>

Lava je vybavena zipem od japonsk\u00e9 firmy YKK. To je samo o sob\u011b z\u00e1rukou, \u017ee zip vydr\u017e\u00ed l\u00e9ta. Pinguin zde jednozna\u010dn\u011b vsadil na odolnost v \u010dase. Zip je nav\u00edc opat\u0159en i plastovou ochranou proti zadrh\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed a mohu potvrdit, \u017ee funguje perfektn\u011b.<\/p>

Kapuce okolo hlavy se stahuje dv\u011bma \u0161\u0148\u016frami, respektive kulatou pru\u017eenkou a plochou tkanic\u00ed \u2013 to je podle v\u00fdrobce dobr\u00e9 hlavn\u011b ve tm\u011b, kdy rozezn\u00e1te, kterou \u010d\u00e1st kapuce stahujete. Cel\u00fd otvor pro hlavu je nav\u00edc vybaven je\u0161t\u011b dodate\u010dn\u00fdm l\u00edmcem, tak\u017ee v\u00e1m okolo hlavy a krku drahocenn\u00e9 teplo opravdu neunikne. L\u00edbilo se mi, \u017ee v\u00fdrobce pamatuje i na vnit\u0159n\u00ed kapsu, kter\u00e1 je vodn\u00e1 ur\u010dit\u011b na cennosti, kter\u00e9 chcete m\u00edt u sebe.<\/p>

Velikost m\u00e9 Lavy je pro postavu do 185 cm a spac\u00e1k jsem tak\u00e9 kompletn\u011b p\u0159ev\u00e1\u017eil. V\u00fdsledek najdete v tabulce n\u00ed\u017ee. Krom\u011b samotn\u00e9ho spac\u00e1ku dostanete jeden kompresn\u00ed p\u0159epravn\u00ed obal. Ten m\u00e1 za m\u011b smysl hlavn\u011b p\u0159i chozen\u00ed s batohem. Kompresn\u00ed obal si neberte na bikepacking. Od toho m\u00e1te samotn\u00e9 kompresn\u00ed bra\u0161ny. Samotn\u00fdm spac\u00e1kem p\u011bkn\u011b vyt\u011bsn\u00edte ka\u017ed\u00fd nevypln\u011bn\u00fd kout ve sv\u00fdch bikepackingov\u00fdch bra\u0161n\u00e1ch. Nav\u00edc p\u0159i bikepackingu m\u00e1te mo\u017enost rozd\u011blit n\u00e1klad do v\u00edce bra\u0161en, ale u batohu tolik mo\u017enost\u00ed v\u011bt\u0161inou nem\u00e1te. Proto u batohu j\u00e1 osobn\u011b v\u00edce \u201ebal\u00ed\u010dkuji\u201c.<\/p>

Druh\u00fdm obalem, kter\u00fd dostanete, je mnohem v\u011bt\u0161\u00ed vak ur\u010den\u00fd na skladov\u00e1n\u00ed spac\u00e1ku. Vak je alternativa hlavn\u011b tehdy, kdy\u017e nem\u00e1te doma m\u00edsto na zav\u011b\u0161en\u00ed spac\u00e1ku (ano, za ta dv\u011b poutka). Je jen na v\u00e1s, jak ho budete skladovat. Podstatn\u00e9 je, \u017ee spac\u00ed pytel nikdy dlouhodob\u011b neskladujte v kompresn\u00edm obalu. V\u00edce v\u00e1m ke skladov\u00e1n\u00ed ne\u0159eknu, proto\u017ee \u010dl\u00e1nek u\u017e m\u00e1 p\u0159es dva tis\u00edce slov a kdo by to zas tak dlouho cht\u011bl \u010d\u00edst. Pr\u00fd lidi ne\u010dtou a rad\u011bji sleduj\u00ed videa na Youtube. To mi \u0159ekl ned\u00e1vno jeden kamar\u00e1d a z jeho v\u00fdrazu jsem pochopil, \u017ee m\u011b pova\u017euje za boomera.<\/p>
